# From Student to Speaker GitHub Copilot Dev Days

## A Special Milestone

Last week was a massive personal and professional milestone for me. I was invited to be a guest speaker at my own college for **GitHub Copilot Dev Days**, hosted at SVKM’s Institute of Technology, Dhule.

I had the honor of sharing the stage with Abdullah Bandukwala, a Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador (MLSA), and the incredible team at the AI Research and Innovation Forum (ARIF) Club. Our goal was simple: show our college how AI is changing the way we build software.

## The Shift in Tech

During my session, I wanted to focus on how modern development is evolving.

With tools like GitHub Copilot, the hardest part of software engineering is no longer just typing code. It is about **thinking, structuring ideas, and writing effective prompts.** Understanding *what* to build and *how* to guide AI agents is the new superpower for developers.

## Building Live on Stage

We didn't want this to be just another boring lecture. We wanted a hands-on experience.

To prove how fast you can turn an idea into reality, I pitched the concept of a **Smart Attendance Management System**. Then, right there on stage, I used GitHub Copilot to build a working prototype of it live in front of the audience.

I have always wanted to improve my public speaking skills. Standing up there, explaining my code while the AI assisted me in real-time, was the perfect way to step out of my comfort zone. It was pure, live-action development.

## The Power of Community

Leading a room full of bright minds and fostering a culture of AI-driven innovation was an incredible feeling. It showed me what happens when a community comes together to learn.

A huge shoutout to Abdullah Bandukwala for inviting me, and to the entire ARIF Club core team for managing such a flawless, large-scale event. I also want to thank our HOD Sir Makarand Shahade and Dr. Ashish Awate Sir for supporting these initiatives.

The future of development is collaborative and AI-powered, and we are building it right here on our campus.
